A would-be immigrant waits to be processed by officials after being intercepted in a makeshift boat carrying 36 people off the Spanish Canary Islands of Fuerteventura, December 24, 2004. On Thursday Rescuers found 13 bodies and at least four people suffering from severe hypothermia aboard another makeshift boat along with another 26 persons attempting to reach European soil from Africa. The civil guard is still searching for another boat which they think has been adrift offshore for several days.
