More than 10,000 athletes run over the Vasco da Gama bridge participating in the Portugal Half Marathon held in Lisbon October 22, 2000. David Makori won the men's competition in one hour 1.40 minutes and Derartu Tulu won the women in one hour 9.09 minutes.
