The pack of riders in the Tour de France makes its way down the Parisian avenue des Champs-Elysees at the end of the 147.5-km 21st and final stage of the Tour de France cycling race August 2. Italian Marco Pantani became the first Italian to win cycling's most prestigious race in 33 years and the first Italian since Fausto Coppi in 1952 to win the Giro and the Tour in the same year.
