COMPETITORS RIDE IN THE WOMEN'S 10KM SCRATCH RACE FINAL AT THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN MELBOURNE. 
Yoanka Gonzalez Perez (R) from Cuba rides among other competitors during the Women's 10km Scratch Race final at the Track Cycling World Championships in Melbourne May 30, 2004. Perez went on to win the race ahead of Mandy Poitras from Canada and Olga Slyusareva from Russia in third. More than 200 cyclists from 43 countries will participate in the championships which will include 15 events. The Championships is also the last chance for nations to qualify places for the Athens Olympic Games and for the cyclists their opportunity to earn a place on their respective Olympic teams.
