McLaren Mercedes pilot David Coulthard of Great Britain (rear) and his fellow teammate Finland's Mika Hakkinen leave their racing cars after Coulthard took the pole position in the qualifying practice for the European Grand Prix at the Nuerburgring racing course May 20. Coulthard clocked at a time of 1:17.529 minutes, Germany Ferrari pilot Michael Schumacher clocked the second fastest time at 1:17.667 minutes and Hakkinen took the 3rd best time at 1:17.785.
