Dutch soccer player Pierre van Hooijdonk eats a herring the "classic" Dutch way in the Dutch training camp in Nyon May 30. A Dutch fish seller flew in the herring on the first day of the so called 'new' herring season in the Netherlands. The Dutch team is training in Nyon until June 4 in preparation for the Euro 2000 soccer tournament which will be played in The Netherlands and Belgium starting June 10.
