The German women's 4 x 100 meters freestyle relay team of (L toR) Petra
Dallmann, Kathrin Meissner, Sandra Voelker and Franziska van Almsick
display their gold medals after setting a new world record in a time of
three minutes 36.00 seconds at the European Swimming Championships in
Berlin July 29, 2002. The four Germans improved on the old world record
of three minutes 36.61 seconds set by the U.S. team at the Sydney 2000
