The German women's 4 x 100 metre freestyle relay team of (L-R) Petra
Dallmann, Sandra Voelker, Franziska van Almsick and Kathrin Meissner
celebrate after setting a new world record in a time of 3 minutes 36.00
seconds at the European Swimming Championships in Berlin July 29, 2002.
The four Germans improved the old world record of 3 minutes 36.61
seconds set by the U.S. team at the Sydney 2000 Olympic summer games.
