Hunter Kemper (L) of Longwood, Florida, the number one ranked triathlete in the United States, with Simon Whitfield of Canada on his heels run during a triathlon in Honolulu, Hawaii, April 18, 2004. Whitfield, a gold medallist from the 2000 games, pulled ahead of Kemper to win the race in a time of one hour 55 minutes 52 seconds, five minutes ahead of Kemper, who still secures a spot on the U.S. Olympic team.
