A Ferrari Formula One car test drives at Shanghai International Circuit during the official opening of the China's first Formula One racetrack June 6, 2004.China opened its 5.45 km (3.39 mile) Shanghai International Circuit with a parade of Ferrari and Maserati cars and a China Circuit Championship race as a test run for its debut Formula One race on September 26, 2004. The circuit, worth two billion yuan ($240 million) and designed by German Hermann Tilke, architect of Malaysia's acclaimed Sepang track among others, can hold more than 200,000 spectators and include a theme park.
