PAUL VOLCKER DURING A NEWS CONFERENCE.
Former U.S. central bank governor Paul Volcker, head of a mixed Jewish-Swiss bank commission, gestures during a news conference in Zurich January 27. Investigators expect to find 3000 to 15,000 dormant accounts of Holocaust victims among 2.5 million World War Two-era accounts combed in a sweep of Swiss banks. Volcker said his final report on the massive audit, unprecedented in the history of Swiss banking, should be out sometime around mid-1999.
