CHINESE DISSIDENT WEI JINGSHENG VISITS CHIANG KAI-SHEK MEMORIAL IN TAIPEI.
Chinese dissident Wei Jingsheng sits below a portrait of former Nationalist Party leaders Chiang Kai-shek (L) and Chiang Ching-kuo, during a vist to the island's Chiang Kai-shek memorial in Taipei on December 29. Wei, China's most prominent critic of one-party Communist rule, is nearing the end of a nine-day visit to the Nationalist-ruled island and is scheduled to visit with Taiwan president Lee Teng-hui later on Tuesday. The meeting between the two is expected to anger Communist leaders in Beijing.
