Illegal Chinese immigrants held at a detention centre in Taiwan's northeastern county of Ilan file back to their cells after calling family members in mainland China on June 3. The detainees are permitted to call home for three minutes prior to a Chinese festival. In this case the festival is the Dragon Boat festival. Hundreds of Chinese steal into Taiwan each year in search of higher-paying jobs. Taiwan officials accused Beijing of dragging its feet on taking the illegal immigrants back.
