Lien Chan, chairman of the main opposition Nationalist Party, rigns the doorbell of the Taipei District Court before filing a lawsuit for libel against President Chen Shui-bian on January 2, 2004. Lien, also a presidential candidate, said Chen and his Democratic Progressive Party had wrongly accused him of accumulating personal assets of T$20 billion ($588 million).
