CUSTOMERS BUYS TAIWAN'S NEXT MAGAZINE IN TAIPEI.
Customers buy the latest edition of Next magazine in a bookstore in
Taipei March 21, 2002 with a story alleging that former president of
Taiwan Lee Teng-hui (pictured on cover) approved a T$3.5 billion
(US$100 million) slush fund for the National Security Bureau to spy on
China. Authorities seized 160,000 copies of the Next magazine on
Wednesday, accusing it of revealing state secrets, but the magazine
managed to print more copies, which were sold out quickly.
