Hitachi'a new humanoid robot "Emiew" moves during demonstration in Tokyo.
Japanese electronics conglomerate Hitachi's new humanoid robot "Emiew" turns as it moves during a demonstration in Tokyo March 15, 2005. The two-wheeled robot, which can move at a speed of up to 6 km (3.7 miles) per hour, or a little faster than an adult's average walking speed, is equipped with a collision-avoidance system. It can also recognise about 100 words and combine them interchangeably to understand and reply to commands, Hitachi said. REUTERS/Yuriko Nakao YN/SA/DH
