SEVEN MEN ARRESTED BY FBI IN FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF TERRORIST ORGANIZATION.
A poster charting how money was handled that was collected by seven subjects arrested by Federal Bureau of Investigation office in Los Angeles, is displayed February 28, 2001 at a news conference. The subjects face charges related to providing material support to a designated terrorist organization known as the Mujahedin-E Khalq or MEK Two Turkish bank accounts were utilized by MEK and funds were transferred out of those accounts into an account of an auto parts store in the United Arab Emirates. The subjects, all from Los Angeles, alledgedly targeted international travelers at Los Angeles International Airport by showing picutres of starving children and alleged atrocities by the government of Iran, then solicited monetary donations for humanitarian purposes.
