Myanmar's foreign minister Win Aung smiles after meeting with his Thai
counterpart Surakiart Sathirathai in Bangkok on August 1, 2003. Foreign
ministers from Cambodia, Loa, Myanmar and Thailand are in Bangkok for a
two-day meeting on economic cooperation. Aung, who will hold bilateral
talks with Sathirathai, said he was ready to discuss proposals to
resolve an impasse over the detention of democracy icon Aung San Suu
Kyi as international pressure is mounting on Myanmar's military.
