A Thai charity worker prepares some skulls before the start of a cremation ceremony at a temple in Samut Sakorn province December 15. Billed as the world's largest mass cremation of some 21,347 skulls and tonnes of bones of unclaimed dead from a Chinese cemetery the operation began on Monday, marking the end of urban burials in Bangkok. The mass cremation, which was preceded by a week of religious ceremonies to prepare the spirits of the unclaimed bones, is due to last one week.
