THAI PROTESTERS OFFER A KRATHONG FEATURING POLITICAL HEADS IN BANGKOK.
Activists mark the annual Loy Krathong (River Boat) festival in Bangkok November 22 with an attack on Thailand's Prime Minister Chuan Leekpai and Finance minister Tarrin Nimmanahaeminda for their part in a bank scandal. Chuan and Tarrin are under pressure over their handling of the problems of state-run Krung Thai Bank, which is saddled with billions of dollars of bad loans in the wake of the Thai financial crisis. The Krathong, a small boat traditionally used to symbolically send away a person's sins, carries false banknotes and pictures of the two ministers with the words "rest in peace.
