THE FIRST CLONED CALF IN THAILAND IS LICKED BY ITS FULLY GROWN GENETIC TWIN IN CHONBURI PROVINCE.
Nikolaus, Thailand's first cloned calf, is licked by the cow that it was cloned from at the SK Pattaya Ranch in Ban Bung district in the Thai province of Chonburi on April 9, 2001. The Research Centre for Bioscience in Animal Production, a division of the Faculty of Veterinary Science at Chulalongkorn University, successfully cloned the calf using DNA taken from the cow's ear, implanted in an egg and then inserted into the uterus of a surrogate cow. Nikolaus was born April 3, 2001. Picture taken April 9, 2001.
