An East Timor woman and her watch soldiers carry the coffins containing the remains of Timorese fighters to a national hero cemetery in the sub-district of Metinaro August 29, 2009. Authorities shifted the remains of the fighters, which were collected from a jungle, to the cemetery on Saturday. The former Portuguese colony, invaded by Indonesia in 1975, won independence in the violence-marred vote organised by the United Nations on August 30, 1999. It became fully independent in 2002 after a period of U.N. Administration.
