CONTAINERS PILE UP AT A DEPOT IN UIWANG DUE TO SOUTH KOREAN TRUCK
DRIVERS' STRIKE ACTION.
Containers pile up at a depot in Uiwang, about 33 km ( southwest of
Seoul May 14, 2003, due to South Korean truck drivers' strike action.
South Korean truckers threatened on Wednesday to paralyse cargo flows
at the country's biggest port as their strike entered a sixth day, but
officials said help from the army was keeping the port functioning.
Unionised container truck drivers in Uiwang also staged a walkout on
Wednesday, paralysing container depot work, in the latest of a series
of strikes. REUTERS/Kim Kyung-Hoon
