SPANISH FISHMONGER SELLS SEAFOOD AT MARKETPLACE IN MADRID.
A Spanish fishmonger sells seafood at a central marketplace in Madrid
on November 20, 2002 as damage caused by the spill of fuel oil from the
Prestige tanker on the richest area for seafood in Spain starts to be
felt in marketplaces. The tanker laden with 70,000 tonnes of fuel oil
split in two and sank off northwest Spain triggering what ecologists
said could become one of the world's worst oil spills. Prices and
supply of certain seafood, like goose barnacles, had only recently
stabilised after an oil spill off the Galician port of La Coruna 10
years ago. REUTERS/Andrea Comas
