Environment workers wash a bird caught by the oil spill in a wildlife
rescue centre at Pontevedra in the northwestern Spain province of
Galicia December 6, 2002. Oil spilled from the Prestige tanker now
affects virtually the entire coast of the region. More than 900
kilometres (550 miles) of the total 1.121 kilometres (695 miles) of
coastline have been closed to fishing and almost 800 kilometres closed
