Participants of the annual Hosay festival rest a tadjah, or multi-coloured model mausoleum, on the shores of St Marie Beach as they prepare to carry it into the sea to be "buried" at the end of rituals in the village of Cedros, 110 km (68 miles) southwest of the capital Port-of-Spain, November 16, 2013. The festival marks Muharram - the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad - which is celebrated in the first year of the Islamic calendar and was brought to the Caribbean by Shia Muslim indentured labourers who came from India.
