French automaker Peugeot launches a small two-seat electric car, the Tulip, aimed at solving cities' transport problems, March 30. People collect the Tulip from special relay stations to shop or run errands in urban areas. The multi-colored cars measure 2.20 metres, and are equipped with radio, airconditioning, airbags, and telephone. Tulip is the abbreviation of Transport Urbain Libre Individuel Publique, French for individual public urban transport system
