Nearly 300 inmates were taken to other prisons from Imrali island prison February 17 after they were sailed to Mudanya port aboard a ferry under heavy security. Ocalan was brought to Turkey early February 16 to stand trial for treason and leading a 14-year-old guerrila campaign in Turkey's southeast that has cost over 29,000 lives.
