CLOSED PHARMACYIN PROTEST AGAINST A MEDICINE PRICE CUT IN ISTANBUL.

A Turkish woman pauses to read the banners on the rollling shutters of
a closed pharmacy in protest against a ten percent cut in medicine
prices in Istanbul January 15, 2002. Turkish pharmaciests throughout
Turkey closed down their shops for two days to protest a decision by
Health Ministry over a ten percent cut in medicine prices. Only on-duty
pharmacies were open while thousands of pharmacies were closed down
joining the protest. Banners read in Turkish "We are closed to live and
keep alive", " We want our right not a profit". REUTERS/Fatih Saribas
