Ali Umit Demir, the only jailed defendant in the stabbing of two Leeds
soccer fans, is escorted by gendarmes out of Beyoglu district courtroom
in Istanbul February 11, 2002. The trial was postponed to next month.
Two Britons, Christopher Loftus and Kevin Speight, were killed in a
street fight when violence erupted between Leeds United fans and
Turkish fans in Istanbul's entertainment district of Beyoglu, April 5,
