UKRAINE'S PRESIDENT KUCHMA WELDS OIL PIPE IN YUZHNY SEA PORT.
A worker helps Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma (L) weld the last
joint on the first stretch of the Odesa-Brody oil pipeline in the port
of Yuzhny near the Black Sea city of Odesa, August 19, 2001. The first
stretch of the pipeline has an annual handling capacity of 12 million
tonnes and the whole pipeline will transport 40 milion tonnes of oil
annually after the second stretch is put into the service.
