United Nations, United States of America
PRESIDENT BUSH SPEAKS TO GENERAL ASSEMBLY.
United States President George Bush speaks before the General Assembly
at the United Nations on November 10, 2001. President Bush, in his
first appearance before the U.N. General Assembly on Saturday, asked
for action in the U.S.-led war on terrorism instead of sympathy for the
September 11 attacks. "The time for sympathy has now passed. The time
for action has now arrived," Bush told 48 presidents and prime
ministers and 114 foreign ministers at the opening of the annual
gathering in New York. REUTERS/Shannon Stapleton
