Rarely displayed memorabilia including iconic clothing and musical instruments of the late Kurt Cobain of the legendary grunge band Nirvana, are on display at the "Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses" exhibition of the Experience Music Project (EMP) in Seattle on April 15, 2011. This EMP exhibit, which opens to the public on April 16, is the most extensive assembly of memorabilia from Seattle's 'grunge rock years' and focuses on bands like Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and especially the band Nirvana and the life and 1994 suicide death of Cobain, that band's iconic leader.
