Experience Music Project (EMP) exhibit curator Jacob McMurray inspect a mixed media art project by Kurt Cobain from his teenage art student years titled 'A New American Gothic' that are on display at the "Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses" exhibit at the EMP in Seattle on April 15, 2011. The EMP exhibit, which opens to the public on April 16, is the most extensive assembly of memorabilia from Seattle's 'grunge rock years' and focuses on bands like Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and especially the band Nirvana and the life and 1994 suicide death of Cobain, that band's iconic leader.
