Former Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic (R) and rock photographer Charles Peterson, who took many iconic images of the grunge bands of the early 1990s music era, goof around at the premiere of the "Nirvana: Taking Punk to the Masses" exhibit at the EMP in Seattle on April 15, 2011. The EMP exhibit, which opens to the public on April 16, is the most extensive assembly of memorabilia from Seattle's 'grunge rock years' and focuses on bands like Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and especially the band Nirvana and the life and tragic 1994 suicide death of Cobain, that band's iconic leader.
