Van John Lefford from Wrightstown, New Jersey, who was one of the nearly 3,000 Vietnamese orphans evacuated from Saigon Vietnam during the last days of the Vietnam war in April 1975 in what was known as "Operation BabyLift" poses for a photograph during an event commemorating the 40th anniversary of "Operation BabyLift" at the New Jersey Vietnam Memorial in Holmdel, New Jersey, April 25, 2015. Lefford, birth name Ngueyn Van Son, was adopted into the U.S. with his biological sister. He says he remembers little of being a baby in Vietnam where he has never returned, yet he has kept drawings he made as a child of American soldiers, bombs, guns, American flags and other war scenes he drew after being adopted. Lefford said he hoped to connect further with the community of "Operation Babylift" adoptees in the future to share their common history and experience. Picture taken April 25, 2015.
