Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones speaks to reporters at a news conference after Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte and Janelle Marquez Monroy were charged with murder, attempted murder and carjacking in Sacramento, October 28, 2014. A couple accused of a bloody Northern California shooting spree that killed two sheriff's deputies, wounded a third and left a motorist fighting for his life were charged Tuesday with murder, attempted murder and carjacking, authorities said. Marcelo Marquez, known to federal authorities as Luis Enrique Monroy-Bracamonte, and Janelle Marquez Monroy terrorized communities on the eastern edge of Sacramento Oct. 24, starting with the shooting of Sacramento Sheriff's Deputy Danny Oliver in the parking lot of a motel. Marquez, 34, was charged with two counts of murder with special circumstances, which can bring the death penalty, along with one count of attempted murder and several counts of carjacking, according to a criminal complaint released by Sacramento County District Attorney Rod Norgaard.
