A fire crew searching for hot spots walks the perimeter of the Virginia
Lakes Fire Complex near Okanogan, Washington, August 23, 2001. The U.S.
Forest Service upgraded the 80,000 acre fire to the top of its priority
list. Crews were expected to have the fire encircled by nightfall.
