A mound of dirt marks the grave of Joseph Fitzgerald at his final resting place at the Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery in Gainesville, Florida February 17, 2013. Fitzgerald died after a two-year battle with throat cancer and chose to be buried at the Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery because its all-natural burials. A conservation cemetery is a green burial option which includes hand-digging the grave site, the replacement of the same soil removed, no "vault" or cement grave sites and requires that only biodegradable material be allowed to be buried with the body.
