A crowd of demonstrators estimated to number 5,000 march across the Brooklyn Bridge towards City Hall in New York on August 29, protesting the alleged beating and sexual torture of a Haitian immigrant by white police officers. The demonstration was held to support security guard Abner Louima who suffered severe internal injuries when police allegedly forced a wooden stick in his rectum.
