LANDMARK HOTEL IS DEMOLISHED IN LAS VEGAS.
The Landmark Hotel Casino crumbles to the ground at 5:37 a.m. on
November 7, 1995 in Las Vegas. The 31-storey tower, owned at one time
by Howard Hughes, was imploded with 100 pounds of dynamite to make room
for a parking lot. The hotel is the tallest reinforced concrete
building ever brought down in North America, according to the president
of Controlled Demolition Inc. REUTERS/Aaron Mayes
