Supporters of Sriracha hot sauce attend a rally at Irwindale City Hall, in Irwindale, California April 23, 2014. The Southern California makers of the popular Sriracha brand of hot sauce faced another potential showdown on Wednesday with the city of Irwindale over a peppery smell emitted from the company's chili-processing factory in town. Irwindale filed a lawsuit against Huy Fong Foods last October saying the smell of peppers being crushed at the plant was causing headaches and irritating the eyes and throats of nearby residents, forcing some to remain indoors. The city council was expected to announce their decision on a resolution formally declaring Huy Fong factory a public nuisance in Irwindale in Wednesday night's council meeting, but the announcement was postponed.
