AN EXPLOSIVE EXPERT EXAMINES THE DESTRUCTION OF COLOMBIA'S CONSULATE.

An explosive device detonated blowing out one of the front doors and breaking glass in the consulate located on the eastern side of the capital. The explosion occured when relations between Colombia and Venezuela are tense due to Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez reiterating often his desire to meet with Colombian guerrillas with or without Colombian President Andres Pastrana's permission.
