Marc Verwilghen, President of a Parliamentary Committee investigating the mishandling of the inquiry into a series of murdered and missing children answers journalists questions September 3 as the commissioners start today the final stretch of their investigations into allegations that convicted child rapists Marc Dutroux and Patrick Derochette had official protection. The committee, which will hold most of its meetings behind closed doors, was originally due to complete its report at the end of September but has been granted an extension to December 31.
