Thousands of dogs from around the world gathered in Vietnam for a two-day international dog beauty contest on October 5-6, organizers said. While dog meat is considered a special dish in Vietnam, as well as in South Korea, dog lovers in the Southeast Asian nation now can pay thousands of dollars to import a pet from Germany, England, the U.S., Mexico or Japan. Pets get special treatments such as going to clinics, beauty salons and hotels and when a pet dog dies, owners can also arrange for a funeral to be held. REUTERS/Kham (VIETNAM - Tags: SOCIETY ANIMALS)
