Florida Everglades, USA
As smoke turns day into night, Broward County firefighters watch April 19 as the main body of a brush fire in the Florida Everglades burns thousands of acres. State officials say more than 100,000 acres have burned in the last three days of the blaze. The fires, which has taken a westerly turn, have shut down I-75 which is Florida's primary highway connecting south Florida's east and west coast and threatens an Indian reservation.
