Florida Everglades, USA
Turning day into night, smoke rises over Interstate 75 west of Fort Lauderdale April 19 as Broward County firefighters watch over the main body of a brush fire in the Florida Everglades. State officials say more than 100,000 acres have burned in the last three days of the blaze. The fires, which have taken a westerly turn, have shut down I-75 which is Florida's primary highway connecting south Florida's east and west coast and threatens an Indian reservation.
