FIRE SMOLDERS IN FLOODED BOUND BROOK NEW JERSEY.
A fire smolders in a burned-out block of buildings in a flooded section of Bound Brook, New Jersey on September 17. Rising waters from the Raritan River, brought on by Tropical Storm Floyd, stranded residents on the upper floors of their homes with more than 2,000 people evacuated from low-lying neighborhoods in the surrounding area. Bound Brook is approximately 30 miles (48km) southwest of New York City.
