As winds exceeded 85 miles an hour, stop signs in the Mure Head subdivision of Aberdeen Estates were pulled from the ground in West Boynton Beach, Florida, September 5, 2004. Hurricane Frances, a category 2 hurricane slowed to about 5 miles an hour with winds up to 100 miles per hour caused major power outages to over 500,000 residents and wide spread flooding.
