Cars drive along a flooded street in Kingston as hurricane Ivan approached Jamaica, September 10, 2004. Drenching rains and high winds lashed Jamaica Friday as Hurricane Ivan roared closer, after ravaging Grenada and killing 27 people on a track that could make it the third big storm to hit Florida in a month. Half a million Jamaicans, over one-sixth of the island's population, were urged to evacuate low-lying areas, including around the capital, Kingston. In the Cayman Islands, a wealthy British territory west of Jamaica, authorities told coastal dwellers to flee battering waves and a giant storm surge. REUTERS/Daniel Aguilar DA/GN
